Ora Manuka Honey
Whakaari Internationals flagship Ora brand manuka honey is extracted from native forest in the isolated areas of New Zealands East Cape between Ruatoria and Waihau bay.
The people involved in getting our honey from the nectar of the beautiful Manuka flower to customers as far away as Western Europe are drawn from the local Maori communities. They take pride in their work and can often be seen busting out their best Michael Jackson moves while singing a long to greats such as Poi-E by the mighty Patea Maori Club.
This enthusiasm has seen Whakaari International grow from a small business selling locally produced honey to the thriving company it is today.
Ora honey is UMF licensed which means our honey is independently tested to establish its antibacterial qualities. "Ora" is the Maori word for alive, healthy and satisfied which is an appropriate word to describe the healthy qualities of Manuka Honey.
